SVHOA Board Meeting (6pm)

Ø Board members present: Michael Recob, Michael Sobczak, Phil Raymond, Eric Nowosatka, and Nick Horn.

Ø Matt Dana needs the names of officials interested in doing District Play-off Games.

Ø GSAHA Friendship Tournament is coming weekends beginning 1/12 & 1/19

Ø Evaluation Program – need to energize our efforts in completing official evaluations. Where can we obtain the evaluation forms? (Matt)

Ø Topics to be discussed tonight based on last months observations:

o Hand passes

o Face-off Alignments

o Youths on players bench, not playing, must where a helmet.

o Coaches using the “Referee Room” - Mike Recob will send memo to Dave Westner.

SVHOA Membership Meeting (6:30 pm) (40 in attendance)

Ø Phil Raymond informed the group that the GSAHA Friendship Tournament weekends will begin 1/12 – 1/14, and the 2^nd weekend 1/19 – 1/21.

§ Dress code: No jeans or sweats…look professional (ties optional)

§ Be at your assigned game 30 minutes ahead of time. Games could start 15 minutes early.

Ø Mike Sobczak went over some officiating mechanics / techniques with the membership.

§ Hand passes – legal vs. illegal

§ Player alignment during face-offs

· Check players for proper alignment (remember your clock)

· Attacking center is 1^st to positions his stick

· Your partner is to watch players behind you for encroachment

Ø SVHOA Warm-ups – Eric presented the warm-up suit proposals to the group. He had several different sizes to choose (Med, Large, XL, etc). The jackets appeared to run on the “small side” of the sizes. Therefore, highly recommend you try them on for size verification before ordering. Cost is $48 for the jacket. I believe the pants were about the same cost. The suits did not have a cotton lining, and the color scheme was over-powered with “orange”. The majority agreed they would like to investigate other proposals (different color, design, etc).
