SVHOA Membership Meeting  (40 in attendance)

 

·        Congratulations to Nick & Melissa Horn on their first baby boy - “Baby Jackson”

  • “Great Strides Walk” for Cystic Fibrosis (May 9, 2009) – Will the SVHOA be willing to sponsor a team.  T-shirts $7.75 (small-XL), XXL > is $8.85.  Those interested in being involved on this team can put their name on the list that is going around the room.  (Contact Melissa or Jason Ruple)
  • Dues have been removed from this month’s pay-checks; this is in addition to the 6% administration fee that comes out of each check.
  • USA Hockey article, “Ask the Referee”…check out some of these situations and add them to your officiating lessons learned.
  • “Stacked Penalties” – reviewed several situations…
  • Discussed situations where a player was injured via a penalty.  Several things need to be considered when the penalty could be assessed major, major + misconduct, or major + game misc.  First thing that needs to be done is to put the penalized player in the box for the infraction, but hold off telling the scorekeeper the penalty until you see the severity of the injury.  Talk it over with your partner, then assess the proper call.
