Friendship Tournament attire for officials is NO Jeans or sweats. Be at your assignments 30 minutes before the game as games may start ahead of original scheduled time.
Penalty shot criteria: 1) player has possession & control of puck, 2) player is over his defensive blue line, 3) has a clear breakaway only has to beat goalie, 4) fouled from behind, and 5) denied a reasonable scoring opportunity.
Phil Raymond recognized Christian Bialek for making a minor & misconduct call, and the correct assessment of a penalty after a goal was scored during a squirt game. The minor was nullified by the goal, and the misconduct was served.
Penalty on a goalie: make mental note of the players on the ice; try to not allow the team being assessed the goalie penalty to make line changes until you know the players that were on the ice. Remember, a player from the ice is to serve the goalie’s minor penalty.
Matt had some additional games to schedule this month.
